Alpe Livigno is the farm of a Livigno farming family who have been cultivating their passion for nature and animals with commitment and devotion for over half a century: from dad Giorgio to his sons Matteo, Marco, Barbara and Filippo, who now run the business.

Alpe Livigno gives life to high-quality products made from the most genuine raw materials milk and meat. From the milk of our cows and goats, in collaboration with Filippo and Bruno's goat farm, we obtain great-tasting cheeses and dairy products and the meat of our cattle, calves and pigs is used to produce charcuterie and fresh cuts from the butcher's shop. In addition, Alpe Livigno produces the bresaola 4IT 100% Italian bresaola made from cattle born, bred, slaughtered and cut in Italy and processed in our Alpine charcuterie factory.

All with a truly zero-kilometre production, which you can find in all the activities that revolve around Alpe Livigno, such as our alpine pastures with alpine huts and agritourism, sales outlets, guided tours and much more.

History

Three generations united by the same passion

The first stable

The Silvestri family, who had always been involved in agriculture with their grandparents' stable, began their own business activity by renting an uncle's stable, where more than 50 animals were bred, and began delivering milk to the Livigno dairy.

The Alpe Federia

With the cooperation of Grandma Peppa, we take over the management of the Federia alp, which we use as a pasture for our animals in the summer, and produce and sell our cheeses.

The Alpe Livigno

After six years, the family moved from their uncle's barn to the new Alpe Livigno, which was built on the site where it still stands today in Tresenda: an already modern farm designed for animal husbandry and welfare.

The Tresenda delicatessen and shop

The charcuterie factory is opened, where the meat processing that gives rise to bresaola and our other delicious charcuterie products takes place, and the first sales outlet is set up at our premises for the direct sale of products on the farm. At the same time, the first guided tours of the cowshed also begin.

The new management of alpine pastures

The family left the management of Alpe Federia to bet on the agricultural sustainability of Livigno and to take over the management of two other alpine pastures: Alpe Vago, with the alpine pasture for the summer period, and Alpe Mine, where the alpine pasture and the agritourism will be managed over the years by all the brothers in turn.

The second shop

The Tresenda shop is joined by a second shop, this time in the centre of Livigno: in the shopping streets, one can also buy typical Livigno products of certified origin.

The new company

The business took on a new legal status, changing from a sole proprietorship to the newly founded company Alpe Livigno.

Adhesion to the specifications of the Livigno Dairy.

Alpe Livigno participates in a project that is very important for our country by giving the milk from its cows to the Livigno Dairy. The specifications prescribe that the animals must be fed a traditional diet mainly with Livigno hay: this is also the case for ours.

The TAST Project

From the collaboration between a group of chefs and pastry chefs from Livigno and some of the town's producers, the TAST Project was born, for the preservation and valorisation of Livigno's historical traditional products. Alpe Livigno joins the project wholeheartedly as a supplier, with its own genuine, local products.

Bresaola 4IT and the FAI project

Alpe Livigno joins the agricultural producers of Filiera Agricola Italiana and adheres to the project 'Signed by Italian Farmers'. In the same year, one of our most ambitious and high-quality products was born: Bresaola 4IT, all Italian from raw material to processing.

The renovation of Alpe Vago

In 2020, Alpe Vago was renovated and modernised in order to be able to offer quality services to visitors: spaces for tasting and the direct sale of alpine products were created and then, in 2023, the kitchen was added. Those who pass by Alpe Vago will thus find refreshment where they can eat delicious freshly prepared dishes, in summer and winter.
